Alcatel Onetouch Fierce XL Windows Phone
CES 2016: has been filled with many new Windows devices, everything from Surface clones to high-end business machines. For the Windows phone fans, you are also getting a look at some new options for getting your live-tile fix on your mobile device.

Alcatel has announced the Onetouch Fierce XL which appears to be a low-range smartphone with a 5.5”in HD display, 8MP rear camera, 2MP shooter, 2500 mAh battery, 16GB of storage and is powered by a 1.1Ghz quad core processor.

The specs make it clear that this device is not targeting to be a flagship and the plastic body reinforces this principle. The bright blue body reminds me of the first Lumia smartphone, the 900, that came in cyan but that’s where the similarities end.

The device feels very much like any other Windows phone with the navigation experience being smooth and the screen brightness and viewing angles are acceptable. If you live in the US, you’ll soon be able to purchase one too.

The phone, as Paul noted, is coming to T-Mobile for $140.00 which isn’t a bad price for the device and if you are interested in trying out platform but don’t want a big commitment, this may be the phone to purchase. And seeing as Microsoft is now able to update these devices, other than the firmware, without carrier approval, you no longer have to worry about a device going stale because the carrier left it behind.
