Sony Xperia C5 Ultra Gets Android 5.1 Lollipop Update
Excellent and at the same time, bad news for the owners of the Xperia C5 Ultra device. A few days ago, Sony has started rolling out the Android 5.1 Lollipop to its Xperia C4 and Xperia C5 Ultra smartphones. Unfortunately, this isn’t the update that the users have waited for, because in October, the manufacturer was announcing the owners of these two devices that they will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow and will skip the Android 5.1 Lollipop update. It seems that Sony’s plans have changed in the meantime.
The Xperia C4 was updated firstly, then the single-SIM E5553 and E5506 and the dual-SIM E5533 and E5563 variants of the Xperia C5 Ultra have received the build numbers 29.1.A.0.87 and 29.1.B.0.87 respectively. Depending on the country the users live in or the carriers they are connected to, the Xperia C5 Ultra owners will receive the Android 5.1 Lollipop update sooner or later. But this doesn’t mean that Sony will not roll out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow in the near future. Maybe the company is still making tests and will release later this firmware.
The Xperia C5 Ultra is a large phablet with an enormous screen of 6-inch, but which support a Full HD resolution with only 367ppi, it has a glass coating and it’s 8.2mm thick. Inside, it houses a Mediatek MT6752 octa core processor clocked at 1.7GHz, which is backed by 2GB of RAM and the internal memory has a capacity of 16GB, but it’s expandable up to 200GB. The primary camera from the back has a resolution of 13MP, with an aperture of f/2.0 and the list of features includes: LED flash, autofocus, HDR, Full HD video recording etc. On the front side was placed a camera with the same resolution, but with an aperture of f/2.2. The users will take high-quality selfies with it at night, because the device has a LED flash on the front side. The battery is non-removable and has a capacity of 2930 mAh, but according to GSMArena, it supports around 13 hours of talking time on 3G.
