Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 release date, specifications
Samsung appears set to move on to its J-series with the purported Galaxy J7 2016 being spotted online after the release of the Galaxy J1 (2016). It is also reported that the company will release the Galaxy J5 (2016) this year.
The South Korean electronics giant is yet to reveal any detail of the Galaxy J7 2016 model, but its release date should fall in June, as its predecessor will complete a year-cycle by this time. The Galaxy S7 is set to be announced at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2016 (MWC 2016), so the new device may not arrive until May or June.
A device codenamed “j7xlte”, believed to be the Galaxy J7 (2016), has been revealed by some kernel sources and spotted by a GSMArena reader. The report didn’t give any detail, but hinted at the existence of the device.
The Galaxy J7 (2016) is expected to sport a 5.5-inch display, with a 1,920×1,080pixels screen, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor clocking 1.5GHz, and running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system, according to a GFXBench leak. It went on to say the device will have Adreno 405 GPU, 3GB RAM, 10 GB internal storage, 12MP main camera, 5MP front-snapper, and come with features like accelerometer, bluetooth, compass, GPS, lightsensor, NFC, proximity and Wi-Fi.
There were also reports that the upcoming mid-range device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 SoC, house a 4,300mAh battery, a microSD card slot and fingerprint feature.
It may be mentioned here that the Galaxy J7 (2015) sports a 5.5-inch Super-AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a 720×1,280 pixel (267 ppi pixel density) resolution, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. It has 16GB internal memory (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card), 1.5GB RAM, 13MP main camera, 5MP front-snapper and a 3,000mAh battery.
