Hidden setting in Google Chrome reveals unsafe websites
A padlock with a red cross warns you from visiting sites unencrypted.
Do you use Google Chrome browser and want to have full control of the Web pages that do not use encryption, there is a hidden setting you can change.
Enter chrome: // flags in the address bar and scroll down to the option Highlight uncertain sources as doubtful. Where the change from Standard to highlight unsafe sources as doubtful and will continue it appear a padlock with a red cross on all unencrypted web pages.
The New York Times is just one of many web sites still running without encryption.
Google intends to change the default for this setting, eventually, but still the experimental stage.
